Tips:
Self-care starts before we leave home. We must fill our cup up before we get to work, before anyone starts making demands on us, we must get our day started right.
I personally need at least an hour of alone time in the morning. This may sound like a lot, but believe me it isn’t. You may have to start with 15 minutes or whatever will work for you.
Before getting out of bed in the morning, prop your self up on your comfy pillows (if you’re just making due with any old pillow or bedding, we need to talk). (SMILEY FACE) Investing in good quality, comfortable bedding is a must for proper self-care. Think of how much time we spend in bed.
Set a morning ritual for yourself:
Meditate for at least ten minutes. Oh did I mention getting up a few minutes earlier than you normally would. Your body will thank you later.

Listen to the sounds of nature (birds chirping, the rain, etc) to bring your awareness to the new day.
I slip out of my PJ’s and into my yoga pants. This small act, let’s my mind know it’s time to stretch and center myself.

I pour a cup of coffee and sit out on the deck if the weather permits or propped up in bed for my spiritual reading and time with God. After reading a page of Joyce Meyer’s Getting Your Day Started Right and reading a few scriptures, I read a page of Simple Abundance A Day Book by S
Now I’m ready to start my day because I have taken the time to fill up my own cup.
